Dr. Karwowski is a physicist and a teacher. His research is in applied nuclear physics, neutrino physics and astrophysics. Most of his experimental work is performed using accelerators at the Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory. His other interests are politics, world history and grade inflation. He is a winner of numerous teaching awards and has served as a mentor of students on all levels.

Micah Gilmer is a specialist in applied research and social enterprise with a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Innovation at UNC Chapel Hill. His research focuses on the process of community-building among people interested in social change, working at intersection of cutting-edge youth development practices with “mainstream” contexts like education and athletics. Gilmer also helped launch Frontline Solutions, a consulting firm that works with non-profit organizations and foundations across the country. At Frontline, Gilmer provides leadership to applied research teams, directs the creative process for reports and oversees public communication.

Gary Alan Miller is the assistant director focused on social media and innovation.  He also has expertise in business-related internships. Over his 16-year career, Gary has held positions at UNC, Georgia State University and the University of Washington, all focused on helping students attain their goals. Gary is also a musician (he just released a CD under the name The Red Planets), swing dancer and hobbyist entrepreneur. But, his baby boy takes up most of his non-work hours. He is also a big fan of UNC basketball — go Heels!

Tejas is a BTA with Deloitte Consulting. He has worked with various multinational clients, to optimize
their financial processes and organizational structure, in Consumer Business, Healthcare and Industrial
Products industries. Tejas graduated from Ohio State University with B.S. Electrical Engineering. He is
passionate about social entrepreneurship and sustainable business ideas.

Sim Lakhiani is a Senior Consultant from the Charlotte office of Grant Thornton LLP and has more than four years of experience delivering IT-related services to clients. Sim has experience with clients in various industries, including financial services, real estate, and retail and consumer products. He graduated with a M.S. in Accounting in 2005 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and is Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
